Well, I talked it over with S, and he is really against getting busy tonight as he feels it will diminish his semen volume signficantly. I think the general thinking is that only 10% of the sperm gets in thru the cervix via intercourse, so maybe it really is better to wait. In any case, he has it firmly in his mind that sex tonight will lead to low volume tomorrow AM, so I'm thinking that the mental strain alone would probably result in a bad result if we went ahead with their recommendations. So... I think we're going to be rebels and skip out on sex today. We'll do the IUI tomorrow AM and just pray that the egg doesn't pop out until then. No wonder that follicle was so gigantic.
I'm assuming that the two 15 mm cysts aren't going to have enough time to ripen, which makes me sad, but oh well.
Him: 7:30 AM tomorrow. Me: 10:00 AM tomorrow. Yay!!

Even if the egg pops before tomorrow, it should hang around for 24 hours or so, right? So hopefully you'll be ok either way. Fingers crossed for you!
I hope so, but I think the sperm also need 6 hours or so to "capacitate" (whatever that means; it's something about getting ready to penetrate the egg). So, hopefully the egg hangs on in the follicle for just a little while longer.
My RE is always telling me that they prefer the sperm to be "ready and waiting" when the egg is released and that's why they reco intercourse sometimes, even when it doesn't match with the abstinence guidelines.
I also had a gigantic follicle on Clomid - almost 30 mm!
Not to get too personal (is there such a thing in the IF world) but how long has it been? It's hard when doing IUI to walk the line of keeping the boys fresh and making sure there are enough. That is another reason they tell you to have sex the night of trigger
Ok, enough assvice from me. Good luck tomorrow morning!!!
Good Luck!!!!
This is very exciting but so exhausting to time everything perfectly with everyone's schedule.
Good for you for working everything out!
I could be wrong, but I've heard that sperm can make it there in as little as time of two hours. Especially for an IUI when they hitch a ride part way there.
Soooo thinking good thoughts for you!!!!!
Good luck today!!
Good luck tomorrow. When I started clomid my RE handed me a piece of paper that said to start OPKs on CD10 and schedule an u/s for CD12. I'm surprised they didn't tell you any of that!
Anyhow, I hope you catch that egg!
All crossed=)
